Interview:  Mr. Huff

Is the reason your trying to fill the dunk tank with ice water because you are supporting the ALS ice bucket challenge? Its a spin off of that PTSA came to us and said if we raised an ultimate goal of $1500 would we do it in the ice.

How did you pick the 3+,3, 2, and 1 for the RDS, but some parents don’t understand it because they grew up with the letter grades? This year we had a parent meeting to try and explain what they mean, so when they look at your grade book  they understand it better.

How much of school privileges does the student council have for the planning and decorating the school dances? Within a partnership of PTSA they can have as much privileges as they want. We appreciate the authority of the students of the decorating and planning, the student council has those privileges.

Do you think that there is a possibility for every two or three months if students bring in two dollars we could wear whatever we want if it’s school appropriate? Possibly. I think it’s possible. I think we can put some perimeters around it. The end of the year last year we did it and we were somewhat successful with students staying within dress code. We can think about it.

Why doesn’t the North Jr. High get to wear the patterns to school? That is purely the decision made by downtown officials. So far downtown gets to make the decision to allow high school students get to wear that giving high school student a little more freedom because their more mature and more able to handle those types of things. I myself, it doesn’t matter as far as the stripes go, but we have to stick to the rules and guidelines that are given to us by our superiors and those are the folk downtown that make the decisions.

Inspiration: “To understand the heart and mind of a person, look not at what he has achieved, but at what he aspires to.”
